This top-notch video is not necessarily in chronological order and according to the two clapperboards was filmed by cameramen from the PACIFIC FLT COMBAT CAMERA GROUP on the same day. The insertion from 07:40-08:36 should open the film with the extraction from 11:30-12:35 being correct. This may not be a real mission, for example some of the M60's may not be loaded and ready and if you look carefully, at
01:35 there is a guy with white t-shirt and sunglasses holding a hand-held camera; also at 09:48-09:49 ducking to the right of screen. This video portrays an eight man SEAL operation (plus two cameramen) which includes insertion/extraction, patrolling in, pointman, rear security, various weapons, and extraction by small craft techniques. The patrol is heavily armed. Out of eight operators, there are at least three variations of the "Stoner" 63 light machine guns which are fed from 100 and 150 round box or drum magazines (clearly visible from 11:58-12:02, 12:07-12:08 and 02:52-02:57; from 03:40-03:51 an example of each type/size magazine in one scene); three modified belt-fed M60's (perhaps they are M60B models used on boats and helicopters; M60's in this video have bipods, carrying handles, buttstocks, and spade grips removed); one M16 over-under with M203 40mm grenade launcher (radioman's weapon; he is left handed) 00:29-00:30 and 10:20-10:25; and what may be a South Vietnamese SEAL with an M16 03:52-03:57. It appears all the SEAL's are wearing Levi's and/or jeans. The SEALS are inserted/extracted by what appears to be an MSSC (Medium SEAL Support Craft with catamaran hull; probably a Mobile Support Team Two (MST-2) MSSC from their Long Phu base on the Bassac River) 11:33-11:45 and 12:22-12:35. Other weapons observed are possible M61 and/or M67 fragmentation grenades at
01:32 and throughout; and a combination of white phosphorous (WP) and various smoke grenades. The combined firepower for this size patrol is staggering. Even though this may not be an actual mission, it still gives rare glimpses of SEAL operators and their weapons in Vietnam during the war.
